Needless to say reviews are increasingly important to small businesses. What you may not know is how. As you know, a good review is used more and more as part of the purchasing decision. There is also another way your well-written reviews help small businesses.
As you know, SEO is important to small businesses. Your well-written reviews help with a business’ SEO in a couple of ways.
1. The More Good Reviews Received, The More Trust A Business Has
One of Google’s many ranking indicators is Trust. Simply put, if a business has more and better reviews than their competitors, Google considers that business to have a higher level of Trust.
2. A Well Worded Review Helps With Keywords
How you write the review is also important. Taking a few extra minutes to be specific helps a lot. Though providing a 5 star review will help with Trust, simply writing something like, “They do great work!”, is not as beneficial as a more detailed review. For example if you are pleased with your new deck, write something like:
“We are so pleased with our new composite deck that was recently installed by Company X.”
The review above contains the important keywords “composite deck”, and “Company X”. This is because searches are being made for things like “composite deck contractors”, and “Company X”. Needless to say “They do great work!” does not contain any of those keywords.
In addition to helping attract more clients, receiving a good review is always appreciated by a business owner. In these uncertain times it is always nice to receive assurances there are people out there that appreciate you.
