Using social media effectively involves engagement. In other words, social media is about making personal connections. If you’ve been wondering how to increase engagement with LinkedIn, you are in luck. LinkedIn has provided a new feature that allows you to make a personal connection with your Company’s followers.
Until recently you could only view data about your followers. Now you can see who is following your Company Page. This can be done in three easy steps.
Step 1 – Click on the number of followers
Step 2 – Click on “See all followers”
Step 3 – Scroll down list
How To Increase Engagement With LinkedIn’s New Feature
There are three ways LinkedIn’s new feature will help you engage with your customers. All in all, each involves reaching out to your connections to learn about them and their business. The intent of contacting your followers is not to pitch your products and services, but to focus on them.
First of all, by learning about your followers you will be in a better position to provide referrals. The more referrals you provide, the more inclined they will be to provide you with a referral.
Secondly, you can provide more posts with content that is of more interest to your followers. The more relevant the content, the more credibility you build. Also, the more likely the follower is to share the post. The more followers that share you posts, you wider your audience becomes.
The third way you can improve engagement is that you have the opportunity to send a personal “Thank You” card. That’s right, an old school “Thank You” card sent by by snail mail. A little sincere appreciation goes a long way.
Though I am big on branding, I recommend not using a card with your company logo. A card with your logo may give the impression of you sending a promotional direct mail piece. Whereas a simple “Thank You” card will better convey the sincere appreciation in which you sent the card.
